The young producer will preside over the next edition of the popular summer gathering.
Italian producer Andrea Iervolino has been named president of the popular Ischia Global Film and Music Festival, it was announced Friday. The annual event, held off the coast of Naples, is a popular gathering for Hollywood stars who enjoy the vacation-like setting of the famous island.
Iervolino joins the current board made up of festival founder Pascal Vicedomini, honorary chairman Mark Canton, chairperson Kerry Kennedy, honorary president Tony Renis and board members Monika Bacardi, Nicola Borrelli, Aurelio De Laurentis, Enrico Lucherini, Dorothy Canton, Dante Ferretti and Marina Cigogna.
Iervolino is considered one of Italy’s youngest and most accomplished producers, having had his hands on over 60 films since the age of 16. As co-founder of AMBI Pictures with Monika Bacardi, Iervolino has created a prolific studio for developing, packing, producing and selling a wide variety of mainstream films.
AMBI’s upcoming slate includes James Franco’s post-apocalyptic thriller Future World, a remake of Christopher Nolan’s Memento, the biopic Lamborghini — The Legend and Beyond the Sun, a religious film featuring none other than His Holiness Pope Francis.
The 14th edition of the Ischia fest is set to run July 9-17.
